We at OneMind Dogs are celebrating the National Pet Month by highlighting two main themes: the joys of owning a pet and responsible pet ownership. We wanted to find out what these concepts mean to our community and friends.

In this interview series, we chatted with several key members of the OneMind Dogs community about the importance of responsible dog ownership.

This time we interviewed Milla Alenius, the Group Category Manager of Musti Group. Musti Group is the leading Nordic pet care specialist operating in Finland, Sweden and Norway. They have approximately 1100 workers and over 270 stores, providing almost everything your pet needs or wants.

Hi Milla! Let’s get started – tell us a bit about your background?

I am Milla Alenius, 36 years old pet parent living in Vantaa, Tikkurila.

I work in the commercial department of Musti Group as Group Category Manager. My team makes sure we have the best possible dog and cat accessories assortment in our stores. I have worked in the company in different positions for a bit over three years now.

What are the animals that own the house you live in?

I have two staffordshire bullterrier ladies at home. Both are seniors already so nowadays they mostly concentrate on finding the best places to take naps around the house.

How would you describe your life living with a pet?

Owning a pet gives so much joy to my life. They make sure that I get enough fresh air and exercise every day, they always welcome me when I come home and are always ready to cuddle on the sofa.

We at OneMind Dogs are emphasizing responsible pet ownership. What does this mean to you?

This is a very important topic. Every pet deserves a responsible owner. If we decide to have a pet, it is our responsibility to take care of them properly. This includes healthy nutrition, shared activities and in general enjoyable time together. We need to make sure they have everything they need to be healthy and happy. It is an honor and a duty to be a responsible pet owner because the increased joy of my beloved dogs in my life is immeasurable.

What is the best part in owning a dog?

Mutual and unconditional love and admiration.

Thanks Milla for the interview!
