star OneMind Dogs Instructor

When handling her own dogs, Liza strives to give them good lines. She wants her instructions to make sense to them, and most of all, wants to be out of their way so they know where to go and can really open up and go there. “If I can make a good plan for them and execute it well, then nothing else matters so much” she says.

Liza admits being a little obsessed with lines! She loves drawing lines on the ground and then comparing them with what the dogs actually give when given good information. She approaches this from the dogs’ perspective, so that they are both safe and having a really good time.

Liza also loves teaching engagement and play. The most satisfying thing to her is when students leave the class excited about their potential as a team.

“I truly want all the people and dogs I work with to achieve their next level, whatever that may be. It thrills me to help handlers improve their understanding of this game and their relationship with their dogs”
