"Why do you have names for the techniques?"

We are often asked why we have felt that there is a need to name all the moves. The individual handling techniques have been clearly named to make it easier to teach our students. All handling techniques consist of combinations of all the different elements of handling: movement, position, chest laser, contact, feet, hands and verbal commands. The core rule is that the handler should be consistent with the training and never give mixed signals to the dog.

When you execute the particular predetermined maneuver and always know precisely where your dog will take off and land, it is easier to get through sequences with the dog staying on the perfect path throughout the entire run.

"How can I learn more about the handling techniques?"

As a OneMind Dogs premium member you have full access to our high quality educational videos. The videos guide you through the teaching stages of each handling technique in great detail. You also get to see what the most common mistakes related to the subject in question are, which makes it easier for you to pay attention to the relevant points. Check out also the Next Level online seminar series for more information about the techniques!
